Goldfins Dazzle at the Exciting Conclusion of the 2026 Craven SPORT Services Racing Series

Saskatoon, SK – A Celebration of Speed and Improvement

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club hosted a spectacular conclusion to the 2026 Craven SPORT Services Racing Series on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Shaw Centre. This event marked the finale of the 2026 Swim Saskatchewan Racing Series, drawing in 127 age group swimmers from five distinguished Saskatchewan clubs: Swift Current Barracudas, Meadow Lake Stingrays, Battleford Kinsmen Orcas, Prince Albert Sharks, and the Saskatoon Lasers Swim Club.

A Showcase of Talent and Dedication

Swimmers competed in three individual events, each vying for top positions in their respective age groups and aiming for personal best short course times. These performances were not just about competition; they were a testament to the swimmers' dedication and skill. Notably, the Goldfins saw 41 of their athletes achieve 100% personal best times: Carlin Armstrong, Erykah Aubut, Allison Berscheid, Evelyn Bourassa, McKinley Bowman, Tessa Diaz Donovan, Cohen Dickson, Victoria Dickson, James Ellis, Luka Fehr, Ty Fehr, Emerson Flockhart, Mehak Garg, Kassia Gartner, Aoife Gibbons, Tycho Hall, Yunze Hao, Everly Haver, Olive Horner-Uhyn, George Jungwirth, Anna Kim, Penelope LaBine, Jasper Ledingham-Off, Ha Le, Alisha Memon, Aishleen Mundi, Viet Tri Nguyen, Anand Nyamdorj, Zoey Painchaud, Aurora Pawluk-Zacharias, Mika Petilos, John Preiss, Jose Saliba, Lyla Shiplack, Hudson St. Amant, Jenny Sun, Liam Veikle, Emily Walton-Bailey, Isaac Xie, Cici Xu and Grace Zhang contributing to an impressive 178 personal best times.

 

 

Spotlight on Remarkable Improvements

Among the most improved swimmers, Anand Nyamdorj, Aurora Pawluk-Zacharias, and Victoria Dickson showcased remarkable progress, with percentage improvements of 28.0%, 27.1%, and 25.3% respectively in their freestyle events. These achievements highlight the diverse experiences and abilities present within the swimming community, emphasizing personal growth alongside competitive success.

Record-Breaking Performances and New Provincial Standards

The Goldfins celebrated several standout achievements, with five swimmers setting new Swim Saskatchewan Provincial Time Standards.

Throughout the 2026 swim season, the Goldfins are excited to recognize swimmers who have established new Racing Series records, as they become available. During the Craven SPORT Services Racing Series #4, the following Goldfins swimmers broke records and swam faster than the Saskatchewan Racing Series benchmarks.

A Community Effort and Path Forward

The success of this event was bolstered by the invaluable contributions of parents, volunteers, and officials, including Meet Managers Tori Veikle and Nicole Gillis-Fehr, Officials Chairperson Robin Mowat, Candice Kent-Rodgman who served as the Hospitality Coordinator. Thank you to our Goldfins Youth volunteers: Noah Findlay, Landon Kennedy and Shay Sullivan for their assistance.  The Goldfins Swim Club would like to thank Belinda Bilous and Ryan MacGillivray for serving as Meet Referees at this competition. These individuals’ dedication ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for all involved.

 

 

Jennifer Robinson, Goldfins General Manager, expressed her enthusiasm for the Saskatchewan Racing Series, stating, “The mix of developing swimmers and inspirational Masters swimmers on our deck has created a memorable and enjoyable racing environment.” She remarked, “The Goldfins appreciate the three-year partnership we’ve had with Craven SPORT Services. Craven has generously provided funding to support this racing opportunity for both developing swimmers and masters swimmers.”Looking ahead, the Goldfins are eager to continue fostering competitive experiences across Saskatchewan in the 2026-2027 season.

 

 

As the Goldfins prepare for the upcoming 2026 Cascade Swimming International, aptly themed "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," from May 28–31, the club and its athletes remain committed to their motto: Go Goldfins Go!
