Goldfins Shine at 2025 Mintenko Summerfest Despite Rainy Weather

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club showcased their prowess at the 2025 Mintenko Summerfest, held on June 21 and 22 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Despite the challenging rainy conditions, the Goldfins demonstrated exceptional skill and resilience, represented by 34 swimmers who competed in over 180 individual events. Their remarkable performance resulted in a haul of 32 medals.

Outstanding Performances by Gold Medalists

The Goldfins' swimmers captured numerous gold medals, with standout performances including:

  • Addie Bartlett: 200 Breaststroke

  • Zeyah Flemming: 50 & 100 Backstroke

  • Anton Magsuci: 50 & 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke

  • Will Sothilingam: 100 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke, 200 IM

  • Dakota Wigness: 50 & 200 Breaststroke, 200 Individual Medley

Celebrating Personal Bests and Improvements

Congratulations are in order for Goldfins swimmers who achieved 100% personal best times: Airaih Kent-Rodgman, Claire Rodriguez, and Eilidh Wakeman. Noteworthy improvements included:

  • Claire Rodriguez: 200 Freestyle, with a 16.0% improvement

  • Will Sothilingam: 200 Individual Medley, with a 15.9% improvement

  • Oliver Ledingham-Off: 200 Breaststroke, with a 14.8% improvement

 

 

New Qualifying Time Standards

Goldfins swimmers achieved 13 new Long Course personal best Junior Provincial Qualifying time standards, a testament to their hard work and dedication:

  • Mila D’Souza: 50 & 200 Breaststroke

  • Zeyah Flemming: 800 Freestyle

  • Ella Reiter: 100 Backstroke, 800 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley

  • Will Sothilingam: 100 Backstroke, 800 Freestyle

  • Brette White: 800 Freestyle

  • Dakota Wigness: 100 Backstroke, 800 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke & 200 IM

The Goldfins Swim Club extends gratitude to the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins Swim Club for hosting this annual event. Looking ahead, the Goldfins are gearing up for their next competition at the 2025 Man/SK Summer Senior Provincial Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, from July 10 to 13.
