Goldfins Will Compete in the J.P. Fiset Invitational - December 2023

With the holiday season right around the corner, the Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club will be catching the Polar Express to the City of Champions to compete in the 2023 OSC J.P. Fiset Invitational swim meet, this weekend, December 14 – 17, 2023 – Edmonton, AB.

“After watching some incredible racing this past weekend in Regina and in Winnipeg, the 17 Goldfins going to Edmonton this weekend are inspired to keep up the momentum.”  said, Steven Hitchings, Goldfins’ Head Coach, “The swimmers are ready for some fierce competition in Edmonton and set to swim their way into finals”

Hitchings spoke to the historical meet’s competitive challenge, “With a deeper field in Edmonton than we are used to, this group of Goldfins swimmers will have to be at their best in the mornings in a new environment.  I am looking forward to the challenge this presents and to see how the Goldfins swimmers respond.”

There will be 17 Goldfins swimmers are entered to compete in 110 individual events and in 12 relay events over the course of the weekend.

The 2023 OSC J.P. Fiset’s meet schedule is as follows:

Thursday, December 14, 2023 – Timed Finals: 4:00 PM

Events: 800M Freestyle, 1500M Freestyle, 4 X 50M Freestyle Relays & 4 X 200M Freestyle Relays

Friday, December 15, 2023 – Prelims: 8:30 AM & Finals: 5:00 PM

Events: 200M Freestyle, 50M Fly, 100M Backstroke, 50M Breaststroke, 400M IM, 4 X 100M Medley Relays

Saturday, December 16, 2023 – Prelims: 8:30 AM & Finals: 5:00 PM

Events: 200M Backstroke, 100M Freestyle, 200M Breaststroke, 100M Fly, 400M Freestyle, 4 X 100M Freestyle Relays

Sunday, December 17, 2023 – Prelims: 8:30 AM & Finals: 4:00 PM

Events: 200M Fly, 50M Backstroke, 100M Breaststroke, 50M Freestyle, 200 IM, 4 X 50M Medley Relays
