Medals Come Home to Saskatoon From the 47th Chinook Invitational

Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club participated in the 47th Chinook Invitational Swim Meet from April 19th to 21st, 2024, in Calgary, AB. Here are the highlights from the event:

  • Forty Goldfins swimmers competed in four sessions over the weekend.
  • Eleven Goldfins swimmers achieved 14 individual event podium finishes.

Sofia Lazic achieved her first Saskatchewan Long Course Junior Provincial Qualifying Time in the 50M Freestyle with a time of 40.39. Additionally, Saskatoon Goldfins swimmers achieved 88 new provincial qualifying time standards.

The Goldfins swimmers attained 193 personal best short course times over the weekend, with eleven swimmers achieving 100% personal best long course times. The top 3 most improved events were recognized, with Benjamin Nesteroff, Erioluwa Agbejule, and Josh Block showing significant improvements.

The Goldfins swimmers and coaches would like to thank the Goldfins chaperones for taking care of our swimmers throughout the weekend: Ryan MacGillivray, Tina Zimonick and Kelly Kozak.  The Goldfins Swim Club would like to thank the Calgay Patriots for hosting this exciting competition.

The Goldfins will be competing at the Craven SPORT Services Racing Series #4 on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Shaw Centre in Saskatoon, SK.
