The Goldfins Add 8 New Qualifiers to the Goldfins Senior Provincial Team
The Saskatoon Goldfins hosted a very successful invitational swim meet this past weekend - February 2 – 4, 2024 at the Shaw Centre, Saskatoon, SK. The Goldfins posted 183 NEW qualifying time standards at the Goldfins Winter Classic.
The Goldfins Swim Club added members to their Senior Provincial Team: Briana Boyko, Miller Gotto, Katie Longjohn, Harper Bear, Ava Gursky, Abigail Gauld, Emmy Hoffmann and Lan Nguyen. Grayson Keays will join the Goldfins 2024 Junior Provincial Team that is set to compete in the upcoming Swim Saskatchewan Junior Provincial Championships – February 2024.
The Goldfins were represented by 105 swimmers, who collectively posted 574 personal best short course times. The Goldfins had 29 swimmers who posted 100% personal best times over the course of the weekend.

The Goldfins swimmers and their coahces would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to the officials and volunteers who buoyed them up throughout this swim meet. The 2024 Goldfins Winter Classic stands as a testament to the tireless efforts of the Goldfins Meet Management Committee, who worked ceaselessly to orchestrate this competitive spectacle. Our deepest thanks to Kelly Burke, Randall Keays, Kae-Lynn Gebhardt, Colleen Patterson, Tanya Gokavi, Kelly Kozak, Kelli Keays, Rachel Boyko, and Jennifer Mah, whose magic wove together the threads of this aquatic tapestry. We also extend our appreciation to the supervising and session referees, whose wisdom and guidance helped us navigate the storms and currents. Finally, we would like to thank the swim clubs whose participants graced us with their presence, making this event a true celebration of competitive of swimming.
The Goldfins will prepare to compete in the Saskatchewan Junior Short Course Championships – February 23 – 25, 2024 (Moose Jaw, SK) and in the Man/SK Winter Senior Provincial Championships – March 7 – 10, 2024 (Saskatoon, SK).
